Feb 28, Colombo: Sri Lanka Army troops conducting search operations in the Northern region recovered a haul of Improvised Explosive Device, the Media Center for National Security said.

Troops of Army's 681 Brigade recovered 2,146 IEDs explosives from Puthukkudiyiruppu area in Mullaitivu on Sunday (28). A claymore mine and eight hand grenades also had been recovered.
Meanwhile, troops conducting search operations in Jaffna recovered seven claymore mines from Vettilaikernie area. The haul of mines included three weighing 35kg, two weighing 12.5kg, and one weighing 5 kg.
In addition, 7,900 of T-56 ammunition, 1,850 of MPMG ammunition, 28 hand grenades 10 rounds of 40 mm grenade launchers were recovered during the search operation.
Troops of 561 Brigade meanwhile, recovered 2 claymore mines on Saturday (27) from Kanppakutti area in Vavuniya.
